2. Semi-Partly Integrated or Low Profile
3. Cabover / Alcove
Built into a specially designed living area from bow to stern. Living area and cockpit merge seamlessly in fully integrated vehicles, there are no visible partitions or transitions – neither in the interior nor the exterior. The whole vehicle thus appears as if it is all of a piece.
The cab of the original basic vehicle is still in place. Directly behind the driver’s cab is the actual living area, not fully but smoothly integrated into the body.
The characteristically high roof construction, protrudes over the cab like a nose. Under the alcove is the cockpit with driver and passenger and in the alcove itself there is usually a comfortable double bed.

Modifications - Campervans
4. Van
There is only a reconstruction of the interior with the addition of windows, either by the motorhome company or the vehicle manufacturer. The vans are noticeably smaller in width compared to the motorhomes. This makes them very agile even in the narrowest streets of Greece, with an average width of 2.0m.
For short trips mainly and, with multifaceted use, sometimes they can be used as city vehicles replacing the daily city car. You are not standing inside and most of the vehicle is portable (WC, hob, shower, refrigerator).
The smallest dimension to stand upright inside. Either without bath-toilet and suitable for up to 4 passengers, or rarely with WC but for only two passengers. Capable of replacing your large family car.
The smallest dimension with bathroom-toilet for up to 4 passengers with the use of a double bunk at the back.
The smallest larger dimension with bathroom-toilet for 4 passengers using a double bunk at the back.
The largest dimension with bathroom-toilet for 4 passengers with the use of a double bunk at the back and rarely up to 5 people with an extra bed kit in the living room and an additional seat with a seat belt.
With the main bed usually parallel to the vehicle and therefore more comfortable and usually for 2-3 people.
- Ease of parking and driving on narrow roads and off-road
- Unified aesthetics
- Aerodynamics and speed
- Large openings in side and rear doors
- Air recycling
- Accessibility (possibility of ramp for the disabled)
- View from different parts of the vehicle
- Lower consumption
- Sense of indoor comfort
- Small storage spaces (lack of garage)
- Winter insulation
Design today with a view to tomorrow
Choose a vehicle according to a 3-5 year planning, as in the distant future your needs may change and therefore switch to a different vehicle. For example, the number of people you want to travel and sleep may change. The time of year you travel and therefore the weather and even the duration and destinations of your travels may also change. In any case, we are here to help you with the resale. Traveling in winter increases the need for indoor space and insulation and the same goes for long-distance routes.
«Less is more …»
With our help you will find the perfect choice between comfort of the interior and volume of the exterior, agility of small and limitations of a large vehicle. Do not buy a vehicle for your friends but for the actual number of members of your family. For reasons you can imagine but also others that you will discover in the course of our consulting.
«Wait, your weight?»
If you have a simple driver’s license then you can drive a vehicle with a maximum permissible weight of 3,500kg. But take into account, especially when traveling outside Greece, that checks on whether you have overloaded the vehicle are common, the penalties are heavy and the inconvenience even greater. A vehicle is characterized by the tare weight and a maximum permissible weight, which is usually 3,500 kg. The difference between tare weight and gross weight is beneficial. The driver is not calculated on the payload. But the other members weigh an average of 70 kg each and together with the equipment (table-seats, sports equipment, food, clothes, etc.) we are likely to be overweight. If you travel with a lot of people and equipment then we will discuss the possible purchase of a vehicle with a higher maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons. Of course with its resale becoming less commercial.
„Fasten your seatbelts!“
Emphasize on a sufficient number of seat belts. The number of safety belts does not have to be in line with the number of beds mentioned.
- After sales service: Vehicles from super-manufacturing companies with a reliable representative in Greece have an advantage in terms of their maintenance and spare parts coverage. We will suggest the best.
- After sales value: We will advise you on the vehicles that you will resell easier and in higher prices.
- After sales support: We will assist you to maintain or equip (photovoltaic, a/c etc) but also to sell your vehicle more easily through our Greek and European network of partners.
We exclude importing from an individual as it is an issue during the customs clearance process but mainly because it can not be compared with the reliability of an approved professional. In fact, buying from a dealer sometimes has the advantage of being accompanied by a used warranty such as the impermeability and functions of the motorhome.
The answer is unfortunately no.
A commercial vehicle may be used only for the use specified by its license and always in accordance with the professional job title of the holder. It also sometimes requires a consignment note that states every time the departure, destination and specific number of passengers e.g. 2-3. Any conversion is illegal and prosecuted, with a fine and confiscation.
Likewise a private passenger car is offered to be used only to carry intended, certified and portable camping equipment, such as a fridge or cooking case but not permanent fixed constructions and modifications. Any such conversion is illegal and will be prosecuted, with a fine and confiscation.
In order for a vehicle to be legal to be used as a motorhome, the term motorhome must appear on its registration certificate, certificate of conformity, type approval and KTEO.
To be cleared through customs, a vehicle must be at least Euro4 or more modern. This Pollutants Directive was first introduced in 2005 with most manufacturers following this anti-pollution directive directly.
Keep in mind that if you are a resident of Athens or Thessaloniki, the acquisition of a Euro4 is prohibited. Euro4 and Euro5 are now subject to an environmental tax of 3,000 euros and 1,000 euros respectively, which with the discount now amounting to 75% for motorhomes, eventually translates to € 750 in Euro4 and € 250 in Euro5.
- The registration fee, which depends on factors such as the original value of the vehicle before taxes when it was new, the purchase invoice as used, the kilometers, the class of pollutants, the date of the first registration
- The transport of the vehicle
- Its real estate processing
- Traffic fees
- Insurance
- The luxury tax (if any)
- A vehicle has VAT when it is new or when it is used and has not been transferred to private ownership to pay the tax to the state but remains owned by a professional
- An individual who buys a new one pays Greek VAT 24% on the condition that the supplier of the vehicle will exempt him from the foreign VAT (eg 19% German) while in a used VAT he pays the foreign VAT
- If the vehicle is purchased by a professional when buying a new or used VAT, the supplier of the vehicle must exempt him from foreign VAT (eg 19% German) and pay directly the Greek in Greece 24%
- A vehicle is considered used if it has traveled 6,000 km or has traveled 6 months since its first registration
According to the current legislation, the persons who are entitled to use in our country a car with foreign license plates must be proven to stay at least 185 days a year abroad (outside Greece). The duration of stay and use of the vehicle in the country is set at six months, continuous or not.
Otherwise, criminal sanctions and confiscation are applied. After that, the vehicle must leave the country and be proven to remain in the country of residence abroad for at least 6 months. In any other case, the vehicle must be cleared through customs and issue Greek license plates in order to pay Greek traffic fees and insurance premiums. In order for a vehicle to be registered in Greece, its holder must have a Greek VAT number and a Greek identity card with a residence permit in the country.
